GRIMES COUNTY, Texas—Two teenagers from The Woodlands were killed in a traffic accident in Grimes County early Wednesday, according to DPS officials.

Authorities said Anisha Patel, 17, and Robert Gollnick, 18, were traveling in a Chrysler PT Cruiser when they ran into an 18-wheeler just before 1 a.m.

Police said Patel was traveling eastbound on FM 2 when she failed to yield the right of way to the big rig, which was traveling south on Highway 6.

Patel was pronounced dead at the scene and Gollnick was transported to College Station Medical Center, where he later died.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

DPS officials confirmed both teens were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
