HOUSTON – Kashmere HIgh School and Key Middle School have been rated academically unacceptable by the state.

The Texas Education Agency originally decided to hold off rating the two troubled schools as investigations unfolded.

Both schools were being investigated for faulty paperwork regarding students no longer attending classes.

In addition to that, Key Middle School was embroiled in a cheating scandal involvingTAKS.

As for HISD’s overall accreditation, the state’s investigation is still pending.
