HOUSTON -- Despite the massive amount of rainfall Isaac brought to Louisiana and Mississippi, we’ve had very little impact in the Houston area. KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said it’s just going to be another hot, breezy August day.

Lows kicked off in the upper-70s, highs are expected to top off in the mid-90s and there is a 20-percent chance for rain.

If we do see showers, it will most likely be east of I-45 near Liberty and Chambers County.

The extended forecast shows the hot weather and the slight rain chances will continue through the weekend.

For our neighbors to the east, there are individual tornado warnings for parts of Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.

Isaac is weakening, but there is such a broad circulation, it will take a while to move out. View the latest tropical weather information on KHOU’s Hurricane Central.
