HOUSTON—Thursday marked the first time that a girl named Jada returned to a southwest Houston home where she said she was raped.

“It’s really sad just being here and knowing that that happened to me,” Jada said.

She told police she and another girl were drugged and raped during a house party back in June. The 16-year-old says she passed out and didn’t even know what had happened until weeks later when her alleged attackers started posting videos of the assault and bragging about it over social media.

KHOU 11 News first reported on Jada’s story a few nights ago.  Since then, the on-line harassment has gotten worse.

“My friends are getting harassed,” said Jada.  “I’m getting harassed.  We can’t go out or nothing.  It’s very embarrassing.”

The HPD juvenile sex crimes unit is handling the investigation. A police spokesperson says detectives are actively pursuing leads.

Normally, KHOU doesn’t identify rape victims but Jada insisted on coming forward to warn others.  Her mom stood next to her along with a family advocate, demanding justice.

“What took place here was a criminal act,” said Quanell X.  “And I want to see law enforcement treat this case with the kind of sensitivity and the priority that it deserves.”
