HOUSTON—There will be light winds and plenty of sunshine Monday, but there is also a chance for afternoon showers, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson said.
Monday kicked off with lows in the lower-70s and highs are expected to top off near 90 degrees and there is a 20-percent chance for rain.
There could be a few thunderstorms develop in the north and move south this afternoon. In fact, computer models suggest we may see some activity pop up around 3 p.m.
There is also an Ozone Watch in effect today so sensitive groups—small children, the elderly and people with any respiratory illness—should limit prolonged outdoor exposure.
The ozone peaks in the late afternoon, so if you want to avoid the ozone altogether, stay in the air conditioning between 4 and 7 p.m.
The extended forecast shows highs will remain near 90 degrees for the rest of the work week, but after tomorrow, rain chances will be slim to none.
