HOUSTON – A 15 foot wide sinkhole opened up northeast of downtown on Tuesday afternoon.
The sinkhole was located at 3600 Market Street, and it was big enough for a small car to fall in.
A neighbor contacted Public Works, and police quickly blocked off the area.
A Public Works crew member said he had never seen a sinkhole grow so fast. They believe a water leak caused the sinkhole.
Workers made repairs overnight, and the roadway reopened early Wednesday morning.
