HOUSTON – One teenager was killed and three others were wounded in a shooting at a southwest Houston house party early Saturday, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, some cars drove up to a house party in the 4400 block of Tiffany near Quention just after midnight and started shooting.

When police arrived at the scene, they found one teen, Braveon Terry, dead from gunshot wounds, investigators said. They also found another teen a block over, who fled the scene after being wounded in the thigh.

Terry’s sister, Rikeisha Champion, said he was a 10th-grader at Yates High School. Neighbors tried to revive him after he was shot.

“Each time he shot off a gun, we all are cringing trying not to get hit. As soon as I got out. I was like, ‘Oh my God, like is he OK.’ There is someone on the ground. I placed my jacket under his head. He was face down in the dirt,” Jasmone Goudeau, a neighbor, said.

Witnesses told police of a Chevy Impala that fled the scene, which they were able to locate near Hiram Clarke and West Orem.

Inside they found two more teens with gunshot wounds, who were then transported to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition.

The teen found wounded in the thigh was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in stable condition as well, police said.

Now family members will bury their only son and brother.

“The fact that I already talked to him. I told him, ‘What you doing?’ That kind of stuff. Watch who you (are) with,” said Rikeisha Champion, Terry’s sister.

Investigators are still talking to witnesses to find out how the shooting went down. There are no suspects in custody at this time.
