HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in southeast Houston that left one 22-year-old female dead.
The accident happened at the corner of Stassen at Woodward in Sunnyside.
The victim was driving northbound on Woodward when she was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound that ran the stop sign. The stop sign is obscured by hanging tree branches.
John Sanders rushed to the scene when he heard the crash.
“It was straight disaster,” Sanders said.
Speeding cars and people running stop signs have been an ongoing problem in the area, according to residents.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the other driver was transported to the hospital.
