STAFFORD, Texas – Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting at car wash that left one person dead and two others wounded Sunday morning in Fort Bend County.
People were washing their cars, getting ready for the Texans game when a gunman started shooting. It happened 10:30 a.m. at the Royal Wash Mobile Detailing and Car Wash in the 300 block of Avenue E.
“I was driving around nine this morning, and I saw a bunch of police,” Christopher Caldwell, a witness, said.
Chris Jenkins use to work at the car wash, but quit the just two weeks ago. When Jenkins heard about the shooting, he and his girlfriend raced over.
“I just can’t believe it, shocking first off,” Cherice Scott, Jenkins’ girlfriend, said.
Jenkins said the shooter was a disgruntled employee.
“Somebody got fired today, got pissed off, left came back and shot up the place,” Jenkins said.
Stafford police have not released a motive for the shooting, and the conditions of the other victims.
“From what I understand, there is significant injury to the other two (victims),” police on scene said.
According to Jenkins, his friends and former co-worker, who was killed, just graduated from high school.
“He was going back there to get a job. He was working there previously and got into an accident up here in one of the vans. He hasn’t been there since,” Jenkins said.
“He’s just starting his life, just a young boy,” Scott said.
Witnesses described to police in horror what they saw. Friends said the teen shot and killed was trying to support his daughter.
