HOUSTON—Police made a gruesome discovery in southwest Houston early Thursday morning when a woman led them to the body of her 2-month-old son.

An Amber Alert was issued for the boy, Misoh Golabbakhsh, Wednesday evening after his mother told police he’d been kidnapped.

According to HPD, the mother initially said Misoh was taken in his stroller around 4:30 p.m. in the 8000 block of Woodway by a suspect in a mid-sized brown or beige sedan.

But after a lengthy interview with investigators, police said the woman changed her story.

She told police the boy was dead and she knew where the body was, investigators said.

The body was found in a wooded area near the intersection of Woodway and Del Monte around 2 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators were still at the scene late Thursday morning, gathering evidence.

People who live nearby the scene said they couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

"I could only see kinda the head … they had taken the baby out that time and put it in this holding bag," one neighbor said. "The woman had to be not all there, to take a child and bury a child like that."

Police did not say how the child died or if the mother was charged.
