HOUSTON -- A fatal crash involving an 18-wheeler and at least one other vehicle shut down all southbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway near Dickinson for several hours early Friday.
The crash was reported just before 4:35 a.m., according to Houston TranStar. At least one person died in the accident. During the shutdown, all southbound traffic was forced to the frontage road at FM-646.
Aerial views from Air 11 showed road crews covering a shoulder lane with sand.
The Texas Department of Transportation said the freeway fully reopened at 11:12 a.m.
No further information about the crash was immediately available.
