An unknown kidnapper is at-large after forcing a Tulane student into his car at gunpoint and committing sexual battery before releasing her.
According to the Tulane Police Department, a Tulane student was walking near the corner of Freret and Broadway around 4:30 a.m. when a silver colored vehicle pulled up beside her. The driver got out of the car and told the student "I have a gun, don't resist," then forced her into the back seat of his vehicle.
While driving, the kidnapper told the victim that he thought she was a prostitute and demanded sex from her. According to police, the victim told her kidnapper that she was not a prostitute and is a student at Tulane. She then pleaded with him to bring her back to campus and let her go.
The driver reportedly went to I-10 and Causeway before turning around and driving the victim back to the 8200 block of Willow Street, where she was let out of the car. As she exited the vehicle, police say the kidnapper slapped her on the buttocks, then drove away in an unknown direction.
The victim described her kidnapper as a black male in his mid-thirties with a light complexion and heavy build. She said he has a beer belly, bald head and is about 6'0" tall. He was wearing blue jeans and a polo shirt at the time of the kidnapping. He was driving an unknown silver-colored passenger-style vehicle.
Anyone with information on this kidnapping and sexual battery is asked to call TUPD at 504-865-5381 or NOPD at 504-821-2222.
