HOUSTON—A Houston father is taking legal action Wednesday after he said a Houston police officer hit him and caused a concussion.

Michael Young, who was a member of the University of Houston Cougars Phi Slamma Jamma in the 80s, filed a lawsuit against officer Brenton Green and the city of Houston.

He said the incident happened two days before Christmas last year outside a shoe store in the 3600 Block of Old Spanish Trial.  Young said he was helping his son through a large crowd that was waiting to buy new Air Jordans when Green hit him over the head with a nightstick.

Young said he suffered a concussion from the attack.

Young isn't the only person suing Green. Steven Guidry said the same officer shot him in the neck without cause during a traffic stop.
