HOUSTON - Houston could be getting another medical school.
The University of Houston’s Board of Regents voted Thursday for a College of Medicine at the main campus.
The program will train primary care physicians with a focus on underserved communities in Houston and across the state.
If all goes well, the university could admit the first class in 2020. University officials say anticipated full enrollment is 480 students and 130 faculty and support staff.
