President Bush tweets uplifting update about young cancer patient

HOUSTON - Former President George H.W. Bush shared a sweet tweet about a young boy who battled leukemia three years ago.

President Bush, 92, said he is incredibly thankful that Patrick is feeling and doing much better these days.

Three years ago, President Bush made headlines when he shaved his head to show support for Patrick, who had leukemia. He shared a photo of him and Patrick with bald heads. In the latest photo tweeted by Mr. Bush, Patrick’s hair has grown back.

Patrick’s dad was on 41’s Secret Service detail. Mr. Bush said back then that his secret service agents are “like family.”

George and Barbara Bush lost their second child, Robin, to leukemia in 1953, when she was 4 years old.
