Obamacare signups skyrocket after Donald Trump's election

Over 100,000 people signed up for health care coverage under the Affordable Care Act on Wednesday, the day after Election Day, the Obama administration announced, the highest number since Open Enrollment began.

Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell tweeted about the record numbers Wednesday.

"Best day yet this Open Enrollment. Nov 9: Over 100K plan selections on http://HealthCare.gov . Consumers shopping & enrolling. #GetCovered"

 Americans have until Jan. 31, 2017 to enroll in or change a 2017 health care plan, and Dec. 15 is the last day to enroll in or change plans for coverage that begins on Jan. 1.
