Taking Vitamin D supplements may not help prevent bone loss after all.

Researchers in New Zealand analyzed the results of 23 different studies. They found people who took Vitamin D over a two year period had only a slight improvement in bone density in the neck, but no other effects.

The researchers say most people don't need the supplements, unless they are significantly deficient.
