HOUSTON-A Houston doctor is giving a southeast Houston woman a gift that will save her life.

A few weeks ago, Gloria Molina, who needed a pacemaker, walked into a free health clinic at Reliant Stadium. She was carrying a battery pack to jump start her weak heart.

Houston heart surgeon Dr. Devinder Bhatia decided to take on her case, but Molina had no idea how far he would go to help.

"(He said), 'If you need a pacemaker I will have it donated for you,' and that made me very happy," said Molina. "He (doctor) said, 'I will also do the procedure so you have nothing to worry about.'"

Doctor Bhatia is doing the surgery for free and the Houston Northwest Medical Center is picking up the rest of the tab.

The procedure is scheduled for Friday.
