SUGAR LAND, Texas -- An arrest has been made in last week's fatal shooting at a business in Sugar Land, police confirmed early Tuesday.
Huver Oregon-Reyes, 31, was taken into custody in Denton County in North Texas, the Sugar Land Police Department said. The second suspect, seen in surveillance video, has not yet been identified.
SLPD said detectives worked with the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force to locate Oregon-Reyes. He was taken into custody by U.S. marshals and transported to the Denton County jail where he is being held on a $300,000 bond.
Oregon-Reyes will be transported to the Fort Bend jail for prosecution.
It was the morning of Friday, March 21 when witnesses said two men barged into a business on Industrial Boulevard and shot a worker in front of shocked employees. At least 10 to 15 people witnessed the shooting, police said.
An exterior surveillance camera was rolling when the two men got into a light-colored Acura SUV and sped way.
The victim, 33-year-old Marlon Alexander Palencia Castaneda, died at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the second man should call the Sugar Land Police Department at (281) 275-2020 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at (281) 342-TIPS (8477).
