HOUSTON – Dozens of suspected illegal immigrants were pulled from a home Thursday in northeast Houston.
According to police, it all started with a call about a possible hostage situation in the 8800 block of Nyssa near Mesa Drive.
Four men fled when officers arrived, but they were all apprehended. The suspected illegal immigrants were pulled out of the cramped house with no working air conditioning.
According to authorities, 26 males, seven females, including a teenage girl, and the four suspects were in the house.
“As a precaution because of the heat and humidity, HPD supervisors requested HFD come and check them out,” said Kese Smith with the Houston Police Department.
No signs of dehydration were found.
The four suspects could face federal charges.
Federal agents raided the same house about a year ago.
