Dennis Quaid hosts benefit concert for Harvey relief

Actor Dennis Quaid returned to his hometown to help with Hurricane Harvey disaster relief on Saturday with a benefit concert.

BELLAIRE, Texas - The City of Bellaire hosted a Hollywood homecoming this weekend for one of its most famous sons at an outdoor benefit concert.

Dennis Quaid returned to his hometown to help with Hurricane Harvey disaster relief on Saturday.

The actor brought along his band, The Sharks, and played before hundreds of Bellaire residents on the grounds of the community center.

Quaid toured some of Bellaire’s most-affected streets before the performance.

“This was the greatest place to grow up as a kid in the 50s and 60s,” said Quaid. “It’s such a great place and community. Seeing the coverage on TV of the hurricane, I think what Houston taught the world is what neighbors can do for each other. How we can help each other out."

Proceeds from donations collected at the event will go to the Bellaire Brave fund.
