To speculate one way or another as to why one or more cases were not reported as murders would be a disservice to our follow-up process. (Differences occur due to a multitude of reasons, including delays in rulings and communication breakdowns.)

If we find evidence that any of the cases is a murder not properly reported or investigated, we will take the appropriate steps to reestablish contact with the families of the deceased men and women you have featured.

To suggest the Houston Police Department does not care about any deceased person is deceptive and a sensational headline for your story.

(Not) going on-camera has absolutely no bearing on our goal to make sure cases are correctly reported and investigated. If there's a wrong out there, we'll find out and get it corrected.
