Woman shot in arm while waiting for bus in southeast Houston

HOUSTON -- Police said a woman catching a bus to go to work was shot in the arm while waiting at her stop.

It happened just after 5 a.m. on Southmore near Grantwood, according to police.

Houston police officers said the 53-year-old victim was waiting at a Metro bus stop to go to her job at Burger King when an unknown man approached and said, "Hey come here, baby." The victim refused, and the man shot her once before fleeing the scene.

The woman went to a friend's apartment for help and was sent to the hospital in stable condition.
