Victim says he complied with robber's demands but still ended up getting shot

HOUSTON -- A robbery victim was shot even after handing over his belongings, police said late Sunday.

It happened at the Tara Oaks apartments on Sherwood Lane near W. TC Jester Boulevard on the northwest side.

According to Houston police, a man was walking through the parking lot when someone jumped him. The gunman took his cash, wall, and a cell phone before shooting him.

The robber fled in a white pickup truck at the end of the street, a witness said.

The victim told officers he did not resist. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
