Teen charged with arson after allegedly setting family's house on fire

HOUSTON – A 17-year-old boy has been charged with arson after he allegedly set a house on fire in northwest Harris County, the Fire Marshall's Office said.

The fire happened on July 25 in the 9900 block of Territory Lane.

"The investigation found that the fire was intentionally set inside the residence by the homeowner's stepson; using an ignitable liquid. The suspect then fled on foot," said Lt. Dean Hensley with the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office.

The suspect has been identified as Daniel Lee Reed. He was arrested Thursday and taken to the Harris County Jail. His bond was set at $30,000.
