Suspects arrested, accused in string of Houston store thefts

HOUSTON -- Two men were arrested but another got away following a theft at a CVS in Montrose, police said early Thursday.

It's believed the men may be responsible for a string of thefts at area stores, including a Randalls on Wednesday.

The men are accused of filling up shopping carts and then bolting for the door, getting away in a white pickup truck waiting for them outside.

A worker at the store recognized the suspects from a previous theft and called 911. Officers arrived as the pickup was leaving the CVS. The driver stopped, but one of the three men ran away. Two others were taken into custody.

It's believed they may be responsible for about six other thefts in the area, police said.
