Driver arrested for DWI after crashing into state trooper in Katy

KATY, Texas- A suspected drunk driver was arrested after crashing into a state trooper's vehicle early Saturday morning. 

According to authorities, the accident happened around 12:30 a.m. on the Katy Freeway at Pederson Road when a DPS State Trooper was monitoring traffic in the westbound lanes of the Katy Freeway in the right shoulder of the highway.

While doing so, a gray car with one male driver came along and slammed into the back drivers side corner of the trooper's SUV. The driver's car flipped over.  

The driver of the car who caused the accident was treated for minor bumps and bruises at the scene. He was found to be intoxicated and arrested for DWI.   

The state trooper was not hurt.
