Suspect in Haverstock Hills fatal shooting captured in Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Florida - One of the suspects charged in the fatal shooting at the Haverstock Hills apartment complex in northeast Houston has been arrested in Florida, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Kenneth E. Jones, 35, was arrested on Wednesday without incident in Jacksonville, deputies said.

Jones fled Harris County after he was charged with capital murder in the shooting that happened on April 26, 2017.

Deputies said two groups of people began fighting after Jones and his brother, Harvey Jones, 34, arrived at the apartment complex.

Kenneth Jones reportedly pulled out a rifle from his vehicle and began firing into the crowd of people.

Two people were killed and four others were injured in the shooting. Harvey Jones is in custody and has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

A third brother, Jeremy Jones, was originally charged in the shooting as well but those charges have since been dropped.

Deputies said Kenneth Jones will be brought back to Harris County, Texas in the next few weeks.
