Surveillance released in fatal shooting of shop owner

A vigil is being held for a tire shop owner who was fatally shot when he tried to intervene during an alleged robbery.

HOUSTON - Police have released surveillance video of suspects involved in the fatal shooting of a man who was attempting to stop an alleged robbery.

Bobby Garcia, 38, was married and the father of 10- and 11-year-old boys, his wife said. He was shot outside of Garcia’s Tires and Wheels Shop on Fuqua near Almeda.

Shop owner killed trying to stop alleged thieves in SW Houston

Houston police said Garcia stopped at the convenience store next door to buy drinks for his shop. On his way out, he saw two men stealing from a Lexus. Garcia and the convenience store owner, who owns the Lexus, stepped in. A gunman opened fire. Bullets grazed the store owner and Garcia was killed.

The suspects are described as four black young men and are believed to have fled the scene in a light blue or silver Chrysler 200.
