Security guard shot, killed at game room in N. Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies are searching for a white minivan after a game room security guard was shot and killed Sunday night.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, it happened at 8:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Dale Street in north Harris County.

At that time, the security guard saw a man coming up to the door with a weapon, deputies said. The security guard tried to lock the door, but the suspect kicked it in.

Deputies said a struggle ensued, and then the suspect fired three shots. The security guard was struck an unknown number of times.

The guard died at the scene, deputies said.

Deputies said there were 35-40 people inside the game room at the time, and no other injuries were reported.

It doesn’t appear the suspect got away with anything. Deputies said the suspect fled in a white minivan, struck the gate at the exit and ripped off a sliding door of the van.
