Search continues for suspect in Willowbrook Mall shooting

HOUSTON - Houston police are hoping witnesses can help them track down a second suspect in the Black Friday shooting at Willowbrook Mall.

Police were called to reports of gunfire at Willowbrook around 12:20 p.m. Friday.

When they arrived, two wounded men had already been taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Police found a trail of blood in the parking lot outside Sears where one man had been shot, the other stabbed.

The gunshot victim was 21-year-old Christian Martinez. He told police he and his girlfriend were walking toward the mall when a white Ford F-150 pulled up. Martinez said two men got out of the truck and exchanged words with Martinez. The argument then escalated into a physical fight. During the fight, Martinez was shot and 29-year-old Miguel Bonilla was stabbed.

The second man in the truck got away.

Anyone with information on the other suspect in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division  at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
