Police chase ends in deadly crash near Bush airport

HOUSTON – A high speed police chase came to a deadly end Tuesday evening near George Bush intercontinental Airport in north Houston.

According to investigators, the chase started around 6 p.m. on the North Freeway near West Road.

Deputies said a woman was driving a stolen white car and had a male passenger. The 30 minute chase ended on JFK Blvd at World of Houston, just north of Beltway 8 and south of Intercontinental Airport.

The car smashed into a box truck after running a red light.

The woman died, and the male passenger allegedly exited the mangled car with a knife. Police arrested him.

The intersection was expected to be shut down until at least 1 a.m.
