HOUSTON – A local mother was arrested Tuesday morning, accused of filing a false report about her son’s kidnapping.

The mother called Harris County deputies late Monday night from an apartment complex in the 200 block of Hollow Tree Lane, saying she had been carjacked.

Elisha Thompson, 24, said a gunman confronted her in the parking lot, jumped in her vehicle and drove off with her 1-year-old son still in the car.

But that’s when the story took an unusual turn.

A short time after deputies arrived at the scene, another woman in the same complex called 911, saying someone was trying to break into her apartment through the balcony.

Investigators found Thompson’s baby son in that unit.

Investigators said Thompson lied about the child being in the car at the time of the carjacking.

Deputies found Thompson’s vehicle about 25 miles away in northeast Houston, at the corner of Sterlingshire and Denning.

Two suspects – Ivory Brown, 21, and Jay Garrison, 24,-- have been charged with aggravated robbery in the case.

Deputies said the investigation is ongoing, but the baby was unharmed.
