HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS - One man was injured in a shooting Wednesday afternoon outside a home in northeast Harris County.

Harris County Precinct 4 deputies responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on Wilona Way near Treaschwig Road. Deputies say neighbors reported hearing gunshots but did not see anyone when they went outside.

Officials say a group of men in a car pulled up to a home and began talking to another group of men who came out of the house. That’s when the two men began shooting at each other in the street.

Authorities say one of the men was transported to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds.

While investigating the shooting, deputies say two men walked into the back of a home on Wilona Way, reportedly looking for drugs they believed were stashed inside. The men were startled by a deputy and ran, eventually jumping a fence.

Deputies began to run after the men but have not caught them yet. They have set up a perimeter and are searching the neighborhood for the men.
