Man charged with firing gun in Montgomery Co. neighborhood

A man in Montgomery County is behind bars for reportedly trying to protect his fiancee while she was being attacked.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- A man in Montgomery County is behind bars for opening fire while trying to protect fiancée who was being attacked.

Deputies say Jeremiah Morin’s fiancée was bringing her children inside when two men in ski masks attacked her. They say Morin grabbed his gun and opened fire, and when the men ran away, he chased after them and kept firing, even though other homes were nearby.

Neighbors called 911, and when questioned, deputies say Morin refused to cooperate.

Deputies think the attack was gang related. Morin is charged with deadly conduct.
