Iconic 'Mount Rush Hour' busts vandalized

HOUSTON - Someone has vandalized a quirky Houston landmark nicknamed “Mount Rush Hour” near I-45 and I-10.

The vandal painted a swastika, vampire fangs, facial hair and the words “oil” and “blood” on the giant busts at American Statesmanship Park, just north of downtown.

The busts of Stephen Austin, Sam Houston, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington were created by Houston artist David Adickes. Each 18-foot bust is valued at $100,000.

Adickes, 83, has also created busts of all American presidents, the Beatles and the iconic 67-foot Sam Houston statue that sits off of I-45 north in Huntsville.
