HPD: Suspects smash truck into SE Houston clothing store

Police are investigating a smash and grab burglary after a group of suspects crashed a truck into a southeast Houston clothing store overnight.

HOUSTON – Police are investigating a smash and grab burglary after a group of suspects crashed a truck into a southeast Houston clothing store overnight.

According to the Houston Police Department, it happened at 3:30 a.m. Thursday at a Citi Trends located on Almeda Genoa just west of the Gulf Freeway.

Officers arrived to the scene to find a white pickup that had been used to smash the front wall of the store.

The thieves also tried to take the safe, but were unable to get it out.

It is unknown if anything else was taken. 

Police said it is likely, but unconfirmed, that the truck was stolen. 

There are no suspects in custody at this time.
