HPD: Man shot during home invasion in SE Houston

HOUSTON – Police are searching for two male suspects after a man was shot during a home invasion Wednesday night in southeast Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, the incident happened at 9 p.m. at a unit at the Cabo San Lucas Apartments, located in the 9700 block of Ledge Street near Nathaniel Street.

Investigators said the man heard a knocking at his door. When the man opened the door, two males, about 17- to 18-years-old, forced their way into the apartment.

At least one of the suspects had a gun, and they demanded money, police said. The man has knee problem, and he fell trying to back into his apartment.

That is when one of the suspects shot him in the leg, police said.

Police said the victim was taken to hospital, and is expected to be OK.

Two suspects got away.
