HPD: Man dead 3 days before police called

Several people were taken into custody late Saturday night after police found a man deceased inside a home and officers say his roommates waited three days to report his death.

HOUSTON - Police are investigating the death of a man in a southwest Houston home. His body was discovered three days before authorities were called.

According to the Houston Police Department, they responded to a home in the 9200 block of Willow Meadow around 11 p.m. on Saturday night.

Upon arrival, they found a man dead in the back bedroom of the home.

Police said the home is a rental property and two other people live there.

One of the residents called police, but officers said the resident waited three days to report it.

“"It was supposed to have happened on the 15th and today's the 18th,” said HPD homicide detective Michael Cass. “We're still trying to piece together why it took three days to report there's a dead body in one of the bedrooms.”

Police took several people into custody at the scene. No arrests have been made at this time.

Officers have not released the identity of the deceased man. Cass said upon arrival, the body was difficult to describe.

"I really can't tell," he said. "I know it's a deceased male. Possibly foreign. Indian, maybe, but right now it' too hard to tell."

Detectives have not released a cause of death or a possible motive.
