HOUSTON – Police are investigating a smash and grab burglary after a group of suspects broke into a north Houston business overnight.
According to the Houston Police Department, it happened just after 2 a.m. Wednesday at the Family Dollar located at Jensen and Laura Koppe.
Investigators said an unknown number of suspects smashed the glass and broke through the front door of the business after hours. It does not appear that a vehicle was used.
The suspects took two cash register drawers from the Family Dollar, but one of the drawers had a tracker in it, police said. Officers were able to track for about an hour, and eventually found it.
However, the suspects had already dumped it, police said. No suspects were caught.
Police said it is not known how much cash they got away with.
