HPD: Dispute may have led to drive-by shooting

HOUSTON – Police are looking for a man believed to be responsible for shooting another man during a drive-by in front of his southeast Houston home overnight.

According to the Houston Police Department, it happened at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in front of a residence in the 5900 block of Belcrest near Belgard.

At that time, a man was standing by his driveway talking to family when a male drove up, pointed a gun out of the window and opened fire, police said. The victim was shot once in the neck.

Police said the victim was taken to a local hospital in serious but stable condition and was expected to survive.

The suspect fled the scene getting away, police said.

Police said the victim apparently knew the suspect, and they may have been involved in an ongoing dispute culminating in the shooting.

HPD investigators believe they know who the suspect is and are looking for him.
