HPD: 2 arrested following chase, assault in NW Houston

HOUSTON – Two men were arrested following a chase that started when police responded to an assault in northwest Houston overnight.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded at 2 a.m. Thursday to a call of an assault in progress on White Oak near Studewood.

When HPD arrived at the scene, officers witnessed two males assaulting a third male on the ground. 

Police said when the suspects saw the officers they jumped into a pickup and sped off. 

HPD units followed on a brief chase in and around White Oak and Studewood, finally stopping on White Oak near the 2500 block of Michaux. 

Police said the suspect passenger was taken into custody almost immediately, but the driver ran off, jumping fences in the neighborhood. 

That suspect eventually fell into a swimming pool, and officers were able to take him into custody.
