Home burglary interrupted when victim came home

HOUSTON - A woman interrupted a burglary when she returned home to find the suspect's truck parked in her driveway.

According to HPD, the victim left her home in the 9800 block of Eblen Dr. for three hours on September 19. When she returned, a strange red pickup truck was parked in her driveway.

Police say that the victim stayed in her car when she saw a man walking from her front porch. He asked if she was the owner and then mentioned that he was looking for someone to do masonry work. Meanwhile, he walked to his truck, removed a pair of white gloves and drove away.

When the woman entered her home, it had been ransacked and her back door was kicked in. She also noticed some personal property had been lined up near the door.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and/or charging of a suspect in this case. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 40-50 years old, clean shaven with short black hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
