Son accused of killing dad at Spring home

A man is accused of shooting and killing his father early Tuesday.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- A 22-year-old man shot and killed his father at their Spring home early Tuesday morning, according to sheriff’s deputies.

A 911 call came in just before 6 a.m. from the 3100 block of Flaming Candle, not far from Cypresswood Drive and Ella. Harris County Sheriff's Deputies arrived and found the 58-year-old father dead.

Investigators believe the man shot his dad around 3 a.m. before driving to Conroe. The 22-year-old got into a wreck on I-45 and then got a ride to his girlfriend’s home.

According to deputies, the girlfriend drove the young man back to his home in Spring where she found the father dead. She then called 911.

The son was treated for an injury to his foot before he was taken into custody.

Deputies say the man may have been on some type of medication.

The investigation is still on-going.
