KHOU 11's Lisa Hernandez reports

HOUSTON - Houston Police say a wild chase overnight led to an officer’s patrol SUV being struck by gunfire.

There were no injuries.

It was about 1:30 a.m. Thursday when police say they saw a man driving a pickup truck erratically. He allegedly wouldn’t stop for police and led them on about a 35-minute pursuit on multiple freeways, according to the Houston Police Department.

The man fired at an officer’s police car, shattering its windshield.

Eventually the suspect bailed out of the truck on Redbud at Danube on the south side.

A K-9 officer was called in to find the suspect, and he was appended without further incident.
