Deputies: Suspects forced teenage runaway into prostitution

HOUSTON - A teenage victim of human trafficking is safe after being rescued by Harris County Precinct 4 deputies Thursday.

Investigators say the 17-year-old girl had been physically beaten and forced into prostitution.

Deputies found her after answering a suspicious person call at the Amerihomes Inn and Suites in at 16410 North Freeway. She told them what happened and begged them to return her to Children’s Protective Services.

The teen told deputies she ran away from a CPS home with her adult boyfriend, Anthony Rideaux. She said Rideaux and Lashera “Nikki” Powell were the ones who forced her to have sex for money and turn the cash over to them.

Both suspects are charged with compelling prostitution of a minor.

Investigators believe there may be other victims.
