Deputies: Man shot during possible road rage incident in Mission Bend

MISSION BEND, Texas – Deputies say a man was wounded in a shooting stemming from what appears to be a case of road rage in Fort Bend County overnight.

According to Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call of shots fired at 12:45 a.m. Friday in 7100 block of Chickory Woods Lane.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found evidence of a shooting. They then received a 911 call from the family of the victim on Great Oaks Glen Drive.

Deputies said it appears that there was some sort of road rage incident near Bellaire Boulevard and FM 1464.

The suspect vehicle involved then followed the victim into his subdivision, deputies said. The vehicles stopped on Chickory Woods, where an argument ensued.

Deputies said someone pulled out a gun and shot multiple times at the victim, wounding him.

The victim got into his car and drove a few blocks to Great Oaks Glen and stopped in front of his parents’ home, where an ambulance picked him up and transported him in stable condition.

Deputies said the suspects got away and a suspect description has not been released at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
