Crime Stoppers offers reward to find hit-and-run driver that killed man in wheelchair

HOUSTON – Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person who hit and killed a man in a wheel chair.

On July 24 at about 11:45 p.m. Rodney Young was on his motorized wheelchair when he was struck by an unknown vehicle in the southbound lane of the 13500 block of Homestead.

Young was thrown off his wheelchair and into the street, but the driver did not stop.

Then a second vehicle struck Young in the roadway, but turned around and came back to try and help. At that point, a third unknown vehicle struck the victim as he lay in the roadway and fled the scene without stopping.

Young died at the scene.
