Convicted drunken driver faces murder charge in fatal wrong-way crash

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- A wrong-way driver who was originally charged with intoxication manslaughter, now faces an upgraded charge of murder in a fatal crash on July 28, according to the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

The fatal wreck happened at about 11:42 p.m. along the 11500 block of Hardy Toll Road near Little York Drive.

Teodoro Aguilar, 56, was driving a van in the wrong direction when he hit Anita Reynard, 30, who was southbound, Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies said.

Reynard died at the scene and Aguilar was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, deputies said.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office said Aguilar has two previous drunk driving convictions, so the charges were upgraded to murder.
