Clerk kills alleged robber inside E. Houston store

HOUSTON – Two alleged robbers got into a shootout with a clerk at a convenience store in east Houston late Thursday.

The 55-year-old clerk was wounded and one of the suspects was shot dead. A second suspect fled the scene and it is unknown if he was shot. Police released surveillance images of the wanted second suspect.

According to HPD, the case will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

It happened at about 9:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Uvalde near Indianapolis. The wounded clerk was rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition.
